Build your own Benjolin and spread some Christmas cheer!

This event will take place on Sunday, December 16th 2018 and will begin at 12:00 PM and run until 6PM or until everyone is done.

The benjolin is a multifunction synthesizer designed by Rob Hordijk. The module consists of four separate function blocks: two VCOs, a state variable filter and an additional circuit, invented by Hordijk himself, called a rungler. This particular arrangement emerged from his efforts to design a synthesizer that was, as he puts it, "bent by design". As such, the module functions according to principles of chaos theory, where short to long sputtering patterns spontaneously transform themselves, at times, gradually, at others, quite suddenly, morphing into new pattern doublings and bifurcations.

For $160 you will receive all the components required to build a Benjolin module, all tools, and guidance from experienced builders and manufacturers to ensure success. At the end of the workshop, you will take home your very own Benjolin module!

The price is a little higher for this workshop, since we are directly supporting the designers of this module - Tsweng Kweiwen and Rob Hordjik. (Still better than $500+ for the complete module!)

This is a completely through-hole build, and I would rate it a 3/10 for difficulty. If you've never soldered before, we will give you expert guidance and troubleshooting help.

This is the third workshop at CCTV, and we're confident that 6 people is the optimal number for workshops. With a small group, each attendee can get focused help from the organizers.

If you don't have enough time to finish your build, you can come to the next workshop to finish up, or just drop into CCTV during regular business hours!

MAKE SURE TO SELECT 'STORE PICKUP' WHEN CHECKING OUT!
